Showroom Host

Samara is looking for a passionate individual to join our team as a part-time Showroom Host in Redwood City, CA. You will be the face of the Samara brand, providing visitors with an inspiring, immersive, and educational experience as they discover our flagship product, Backyard.

We are searching for candidates with great people skills and a clear passion for design. The role requires a high level of energy and initiative, plus a deep understanding of our product and customer journey. Success in this role requires an unwavering customer-first approach, the ability to thrive in ambiguous and unexpected situations, and a flexible, solution-oriented mindset to tackle any challenge.

Hours: Nights (5-9 PM) and Weekends (9 AM - 5:30 PM)

Key responsibilities

  • Provide a high-end retail experience for visitors and facilitate an excellent product overview, showcasing Backyard’s unique features and benefits.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication and listening skills to elegantly connect clients’ needs to Backyard as a product.
  • Perform in-store consultations related to design, color, and sizing for clients’ Backyard projects.
  • Contribute to the sales process by achieving the highest possible conversion rate and earn additional compensation for product reservations and site visits.
  • Seamlessly coordinate customer appointments through phone and email.
  • Record important information from showroom visits in Salesforce to help improve future customer interactions.
  • Record important information during the showroom tour in Salesforce for future customer interactions.
  • Participate in out-of-office sales and marketing events, including trade shows and Samara-hosted events.
  • Assist in day-to-day office tasks during downtime and respond to phone, email, and online inquiries in a timely manner.


  • 2+ years of experience in high-end retail working directly with customers, preferably in real estate, interior design/furniture, or construction.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture, interior design, or related fields is a plus but not required.
  • Strong people skills, approachability, and empathy.
  • Attention to quality, detail, and customer service.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. Fluency in another language, such as Spanish, is a plus.
  • Self-starter with a team-first mentality and the drive to empower others.
