Sales Development Representative

Join Samara to help create new ways of living that help people dream bigger. Our first product is Backyard, a fully turnkey, premium accessory dwelling unit (ADU) for California property owners and real estate developers.

We're seeking a Sales Development Representative (SDR) who is driven, personable, and meticulously organized to contribute to our rapidly growing startup.

As an SDR, you'll create exceptional customer experiences, help people effortlessly build their dream ADU, and join a supportive team with massive opportunities for career growth.

Here's what you'll do:

Build and nurture relationships

  • Identify prospects: Research and find relevant contacts within target markets.
  • Engage customers: Schedule appointments, facilitate meetings, and coordinate with Project Specialists.
  • Spark interest: Reach out through cold calls, personalized emails, and more.
  • Nurture relationships: Understand prospects, keep them engaged, and position our offerings as solutions.
  • Qualify leads: Analyze properties, update CRM systems, and prep tailored collateral materials.
  • Guide buyers: Help customers find their perfect Backyard configurations.
  • Demystify financing: Learn basic ADU financing pathways to identify the best options for each lead.

Promote and support sales

  • Participate in events: Attend industry events, home shows, showroom events, and more.
  • Host showroom visits: Provide engaging, in-depth overviews of our products and services for showroom guests.
  • Assist site visits: Document customer properties and help build beautiful and informative sales proposals.

Collaborate cross-functionally

  • Improve sales processes: Collaborate with the VP of Revenue to help drive continuous improvement.
  • Learn the ins-and-outs of construction: Learn from our Construction team to communicate benefits and intricacies of the installation process.
  • Become a product expert: Learn the ins and outs of our product to convey the quality, features, and energy efficiency of Backyard.


  • Location: In-person in Redwood City, CA office Tues-Thurs, plus occasional travel.
  • Education: BS or MS in business, engineering, economics, construction management, or related fields.
  • Experience: 1-2 years in sales (ADU, proptech, real estate, or construction) is a bonus.

The base pay range for this role is between $65,000 and $75,000 annualized. Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, and qualifications. You’ll also receive commission based on defined targets.
