Sales Manager

Samara has an immediate opening for a Sales Manager. Using a combination of construction-industry expertise and stellar people and communication skills, the Sales Manager will help interested leads become happy customers. As an early team hire, they'll design strategies and processes that will help shape our customer approach and messaging. This is an in-person position; all candidates will be required to be on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Responsibilities

  • Establish yourself as a knowledgeable, professional and trustworthy advisor to customers during the early stages of their journey.
  • Help turn customer curiosity into enthusiasm (and ownership) through a deep understanding of Samara’s products and what is special about them.
  • Guide customers through the front end of the sales funnel, from introductory calls and facility tours all the way to project proposals and contract negotiations.
  • Evaluate output from high-level due diligence filters to prioritize leads and give Samara’s operations team the highest probability of success.
  • Conduct on-site due diligence in order to create proposals for customers and negotiate contracts.
  • Work closely with the Project Management team to ensure that proposals are accurate and that Samara’s risk is appropriately captured within the contract language.
  • Set appropriate but enticing customer expectations that align with Samara’s operations capabilities and set the Project Management team up for success.
  • Help customers identify the best financing and tax strategies based on their unique situations and use cases.
  • Optimize sales using a data-driven approach to ensure that we meet our sales conversion targets.
  • Work with our VP of Revenue to drive an efficient sales cycle by helping define the Sales team structure and hiring strategy, refining sales scripts, and providing feedback to marketing to better target high potential markets.
  • Attend Samara delivery days to foster new customer interest and generate leads.

Requirements

  • 5+ years working in a sales role in the construction or real estate sector
  • Experience working in construction project management is a plus
  • BS or MS in business, engineering, economics, construction management or related fields.
  • Candidates must be personable and have the ability to foster relationships with customers.
  • Passion for housing development and making customer dreams come true.
  • Ability to work in an undefined environment that will require you to wear multiple hats, stay focused, and drive towards continuous improvement.
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative, design-thinking approach to large scale problem solving.
  • Data-driven and analytical approach to process development and improvement.
  • Collaborative, team-first mentality and passion for empowering those around you.
  • Must be a self-starter with a track record of personal accountability.
  • An eye for detail and the drive to perform at an exceptional level.
